DESCRIPTION:About this event\n\nThe Canadian Society for Civil Engineering invites you to join us for a presentation about Vancouver’s Granville Bridge Connector Project\, led by Dylan Passmore from the City of Vancouver.\n\nVancouver’s Granville Bridge is the city’s icon of 1950s transportation thinking - designed to connect to freeways that were never built. This resulted in a bridge with more vehicle capacity than could possibly be used while imposing a significant pedestrian and cycling barrier between the city’s densest areas.\n\nJoin us for an overview and discussion of the City’s process to evaluate and engage on an exhaustive set of 20+ design concepts that led to Council’s approval to use the existing bridge deck by taking advantage of excess vehicle capacity\, including addressing free-flow ramp crossings.
